Ceramic Coating FAQs

What are the benefits of a ceramic coating?

A ceramic coating adds crazy gloss and protection to your vehicle. It can be applied to pretty much everything from your car to your tractor. Ceramic coatings bead water, repel dust and dirt, resistant to micro scratches, makes vehicles easier to clean, UV protection. It offers long-lasting protection to your vehicle. Waxes for example only last 3-5 months, well ceramic coatings can last between 1-9 years, if maintained properly.

Do you need a ceramic coating?

Anybody could need a ceramic coating. It all depends on your needs and budget. Sure you could put on a wax or spray sealant on your car, but those only last a couple of months. Ceramic coatings last from 1 to 9 years or even longer when maintained properly. In the long run, it saves you time and money because you don’t need to apply it every couple of months. So if you want long-lasting protection on your daily driver to your show car then a ceramic coating is the right choice for you.

Why should I ceramic coat my tractor, semi, or heavy equipment?

You may notice that the paint on your tractor, semi, or heavy equipment is dull, this is because the paint that is used on those doesn’t have much UV protection compared to automotive car paint. A ceramic coating offers UV protection for that equipment so it stays shiny for years to come. If your tractor is brand new and shiny then a ceramic coating can be applied to it, but if your equipment is old and dull then you must have it polished before the ceramic is applied or you won’t get the gloss and protection a ceramic coating can bring.

Do I need my vehicle paint corrected before I get a ceramic coating?

No, you do not need your vehicle paint corrected before a ceramic coating. It is highly recommend though. It helps create the best surface for the ceramic coating to bond to and you get even more gloss out of your paint too. You could even get a paint enhancement, which smooths out the paint, adds gloss, and removes light swirls, rather than a paint correction and that would be a good surface for a ceramic coating to bond to.
